"Thank You For Loving Me"

On New Year's Day tuck a "Thank You For Loving Me Last Year and in the Year to Come" note in the foil atop his favorite champagne.

Well, this one is an easy deal. I intend to do just as Miss Jani recommends, with the exception being a bottle of sparkling cider instead of champagne. I will give it to Allen to serve for our annual toast at brunch on New Year's Day. I will be stopping back to leave a comment as to how it went.

  1. Oh, Kat, now that DOES sound sweet, a token of appreciation any husband would cherish.

  2. Well, good intentions. I wrote Allen a little note and enlisted Brianna's help to slide it under the foil of the sparkling cider while I kept Allen distracted. Which she did. You could not even tell it had been tampered with. As we got ready to sit down to brunch she put it at his spot as the phone rang. I went to take the call from my sister and came back forty minutes later. The cider was poured and dear hubby didn't mention a thing. Brianna pulled me aside and said, "Mom, here's the deal. While you were on the phone Pa opened the cider and threw the foil away, along with your note!" He never even saw it.

This is where having spies and helpers pays off. We always have English poppers on New Year's Day. Aedan had carefully put one at each person's place setting. When Brianna saw what happened, she grabbed the note out of the trash and slipped it into Allen's popper.

When we opened them, my ever witty husband said, "Now, I wonder how those Chinese people knew which one to put this in?"

It may not have gone smooth, but he got the message and we all got a good chuckle out of it. Later, he asked me if that was one of the 365 Ways... I asked why he wanted to know? He said, "I don't want to miss any."

And so ladies, I hope you have started your year with a bang and a little token of love. Don't forget to stop back and let me know what you came up with.

    Hugs,

    C.P.

  3. I read this *after* we had our sparkling grape juice. So as I read the blog and he watched football, I thanked him for loving me last year. He said, "What's going on??" Ha! :-D I tell him I love him all the time, but to add in "last year" threw him off a little bit! I am really looking forward to this, thank you so much for taking the time to do this blog!

  5. What a great story! lol

Well, I totally missed this one (I'll have to play catch up). I hope that doesn't mean anything.

We don't have any sparkling cider (and don't do champagne) so I'll have to improvise.
