Good Morning, Ladies. I lost my book. Don't Panic! I found it again. But, I missed this one where Jani says, "On Inauguration Day bake him a cake in the shape of a heart, which is your party symbol."
The truth is, I didn't even know when Inauguration day was. Turns out it is the 20th which happens to have been Wednesday. But that's OK. Cake is good any day, right? If you don't have a heart shaped pan you can follow these step by step instructions. We also have fun little silicone muffin cups that are heart shaped. Wouldn't it be fun to write "C.P. & A.R." inside the heart? Heart shaped cookies would be just as good if a cake is not up your alley. Have fun with it... the possibilities are endless. Peanut butter and jelly, toast, or even eggs poached in a heart shaped cookie cutter. My brother in law loves meatloaf. My sister says that's the way she won his heart. You never know, some man might be wowed to see some heart shaped beef. Is that a little too over the edge??? You could always just bake a cake.

ReplyDeleteHi, Ladies~
ReplyDeleteHmmm....I would LOVE to make a heart shaped cake for Skippy tonight, however, I just baked a TON of Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies at his request so we will have to wait until these are gone before I make more sweets! lol
I am, however, going to take this in a different direction. I think tonight for dinner, I am going to make some homemade bread and then make I LOVE MY SKIPPY MAN grilled cheese sandwiches (in the shape of a heart, of course :> ) along with some hot tomato soup. YUMMM! I just hope he gets home early enough tonight to take time out to really relax and enjoy his dinner!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HOPE! :> ) I so agree with True Blessings in that we MISS YOU very much. Your posts were wonderful and uplifting and your love for the Lord shone through in every word! PLEASE COME BACK TO US! :> )
Blessings~
Laura
Hey, Kat~
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started bloggin over on HSB, I had decided that I didn't want to use the real names of my family so I just used their nicknames. Well, that was easy with the kids, because they all had ones already. Actually, my DH had one as well, but I didn't think he would want to be referred to as "Schnookums" on my blog, so I had to come up with another one.
Well, one day, my DH was looking through the real estate section looking at houses. "Hey," he said with a big smile, "Let's buy this house. The name of the street just sounds so happy. Wouldn't you like to live on Skippy Lane?" :> )
Henceforth, in the blogging world, my DH shall now be know as MY SKIPPY MAN!
Oh, you gotta love him! :> )
Blessings~
Laura

ReplyDeleteHello again, Ladies~
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, we didn't get to have our I LOVE MY SKIPPY MAN grilled cheese sandwiches this evening. :> ( When Skippy got home we ran out to Wal-Mart to get a few things since we are SUPPOSED TO get 5 inches of snow on top of a 1/4 inch of ice between tonight and tomorrow afternoon. Cat food and the all "important papers" were on the top of the list. It had already started a mixture of sleet and snow and my dear, sweet Skippy Man wouldn't let me drive. My chariot certainly did await me this evening! :> )
So, for dinner we had a special TREAT of Long John Silver's with a little bit of KFC added in. (they are both in the same building) We rarely eat at fast food places any more, so this was definitely a TREAT!!!
Well, I bet you can guess what we WILL be having for dinner tomorrow evening! :> )
Blessings~
Laura

Love and ((((hugs)))) to you~

Dear True,
ReplyDeleteWe love to make home made tortillas and serve it with black beans, eggs, fajitas, salsa, sour cream and cheese for breakfast. Our friend from Honduras first introduced us to this wonderful meal. I am so glad you have joined us!
Laura,
One of our favorite treats is grilled cheese with tomato soup. We always have it when it snows. I told my hubby that was what you had planned to make for Skippy and he reminded me about when it snowed on Valentine's Day and I cut the sandwiches with a heart cookie cutter and floated them in the soup.
I am sorry you all didn't get to have your special dinner last night... my hubby was most sympathetic about that part of it, too. Especially having to go to Walmart instead... my least favorite place in the world. But at least you were together.
How did you all fare with the weather? We had some sleet but it didn't do too much damage... the ground stayed just above freezing.
Thanks for sharing the story of how your man became Skippy. I must say it is too cute a name for words. Yes, indeed, Skippy lane would be a fun place to live.
AS always, ladies, it has been a delight!
Kat
OOPS! Almost forgot... heart shaped steak and fudge went over big when Allen finally got home last night. There is something about beef to make a man smile... gee you should have seen his face light up when he heard I was putting a steak in the pan. Brianna took some pictures, of the dinner not the hubby, and I will upload them when I feel more motivated.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
