The dedicated life is the life worth living. You must give with your whole heart. -- Anne Dillard

Jani says "Wear a ribbon around your finger. If he asks why-say it's so you won't forget to tell him how much you need him."

Maybe there was a sale on ribbon at the local fabric store and she needed to find a use for it all? How about using it on some of those cards, Jani?

  1. That is funny, Kat.

This ribbon thing reminds me of the Christmas Bill and I were engaged. I did not have a gift for Bill and his roommate/best friend and soon to be best man said, jokingly, “Why don’t you just put a ribbon on yourself.”

So, when we meet at my sister’s for a Christmas party, I wore a wide red ribbon (beauty-pageant style) with a large bow. He really liked that. ☺

  2. This is a beautiful idea! I hope he asks me at Bible study tonight so I can embarrass him -- in a good way! ;-)

  3. Hey, Ladies~

Kat, you are so funny! lol My mom used to have a TON of ribbon, but after she passed away, I donated it to the church. Little did I know I would need it to blog with! lol

The only thing that came to mind was the same thing that Hope had said about the bow. Although I know that by the time Skippy got home, I would probably forget why I had the bow on in the first! ROFLOL!

    Have a great day!

    Blessings~

  4. You ladies crack me up! And how imaginative you are. I struck out all over the place this week. Yesterday, I had this big, bright red ribbon on ... he never even noticed. Ha! And it kept coming undone and I couldn't tie it with one hand so the girls kept putting it back on and asking, "He didn't notice yet?"

  7. ROFLOL! Hey, Kat.....I had the same problem.

I didn't have any ribbon anywhere in the house. But what I DID have were some Lindt Truffles so I paper clipped one to my sweatshirt. I know, NUTS, but hey, at least I'm using my brain, right? The funny thing was is that it was RED, and it was just.....hanging there. But did he notice? NO! So, I taped a BLUE one the red one....NOTHING! (sorry, no pic of that) I finally had to stand in front of him and say, "Aren't you going to ask me WHY I have 2 chocolate truffles hanging on my sweatshirt?"

He looked at me....laughed, and said, "I didn't DARE ask!" Then he said, "Darling.....why do you have those "things" hanging from your chest?"

OMGosh! I about died! ROFLOL! ROFLOL! ROFLOL! "Oh, you mean the truffles?" lol "I put them there to remind me to tell you how much I need you!" (insert awwww and smooches here!)

Never a dull moment here on the farm!

    Blessings~

  9. Laura,

I must first say that you win the prize for effort and creativity!

My hubby came into the kitchen because I was laughing so hard. I was trying to read your comment to the girls and had to keep stopping because I was laughing so hard. So Allen says, "I know this is going to be good." In between gasps of laughter I finally get the rest of your story out.

And then can you believe he says, "You didn't do that did you?"

The girls were about dying now because of course we laughed all day the other day and the day after about him not noticing. Then I sent Emma to my room to retrieve the evidence from the top of my jewelry box and he said, "You didn't wear that... I couldn't have missed it!"

So I scrolled to the picture up here. He is still walking around here trying to explain how he couldn't have noticed. A minute ago he came in and said, "You need to tell me about these things ahead of time." I love my man, too!

Oh, and after we discussed your Skippy and how he got his name, Allen said why didn't he get a cool name on my blog and he wants a cool name on the blog, too. Laughing out loud. I think the cold is affecting his brain:)

    Love you ladies!
