"But I've got to say, 'I love you' 'cause it's February 22nd and I can't tell a lie!"- Holiday Inn
Jani says,"To celebrate Washington's birthday: make him a cake (red/white/blue) in the shape of a flag. Use a box of white cake mix. Pour into 3 separate rectangular pans before baking. Put a few drops of blue food coloring in one pan, red in another, and leave one white. Frost with red and white stripes of confectioners' sugar frosting. Use cherries for stars. Remember there were only thirteen then. "

Good morning, all~
ReplyDeletePerhaps it's because I haven't had any coffee yet, but I'm confused as to why three? Won't that make it HUGE? lol I think I am just going to make a 1/2 sheet cake and just decorate it. (serious coffee infusion is apparently needed here!) lol
Blessings~

Hi, Laura.
ReplyDeleteI think that must have been a popular way to make a flag cake back then. Sort of like the blueberry and strawberry method we use now.
Happy Monday!
